Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy
Hakomi is a therapy for those seeking inner clarity and a sense of wholeness. This gentle method teaches us to recognize and heal childhood wounds and traumas as well as emotional sources of stress and is an effective tool for working with emotions that underlie chronic physical symptoms.
The core of the practice is self-discovery, learning who you are in the very heart of yourself by studying your deepest emotional attitudes regarding safety, belonging, support, power, freedom, responsibility, appreciation, sexuality and spirituality. Hakomi allows you to notice inner conflicts, feel how limiting beliefs can show up in your daily thoughts and actions, and allow you to choose to let go and shift towards greater freedom, confidence, joy and wholeness.
The Hakomi Method is the foundation of all the work that I do. As a Certified Hakomi Therapist, I offer a potent alternative to traditional talk therapy. While I blend many therapeutic and intuitive practices, my primary modality is Hakomi, a mindfulness-based somatic approach to emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing. I work primarily with body awareness, in particular, the ways our emotions show up as physical sensations. I guide you into your own body, heart, and mind to unwind stuck memories and emotions, and teach you how to meet your present moment experience with attentive compassion.
I came to Hakomi after experiencing the elegance and effectiveness as a client. I tried traditional talk therapy several times but it wasn’t until I worked with a Hakomi therapist that I felt a significant shift in how I experienced myself and my life. The practice allowed me to gently bring awareness to the wounded and frightened areas of myself that were unconsciously driving my habits of thought and action. I learned to make space for myself, to find healing, and make different choices that served my whole self.

“Wisdom combines experience with knowledge. Experience is lived through the passions of the body; knowledge is learned through the discipline of the mind. Wisdom connects body and spirit in soul.” ~Marion Woodman
