My approach to therapy focuses on your present moment experience. 

Instead of only talking about your life, we slow things down and pay attention to what’s happening inside you as it’s happening. 

You might begin to notice where you hold back or protect yourself, what feels difficult to receive even when you want it, and the patterns that show up in your body, your reactions, and your relationships. 

These patterns don’t just live in your thoughts. They live in your nervous system. 

How I work 

My work is grounded in Hakomi, a mindfulness based, somatic approach to therapy. 

Together, we gently explore your experience in real time so you can understand what has been shaping your life and begin to shift it in a way that feels natural and lasting. 

This work is slower and more experiential, but often leads to deeper, more meaningful change. 

Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, self aware, and ready for something deeper than traditional talk therapy. 

About Deirdre 

I’m a licensed psychotherapist based in Austin, Texas, offering virtual therapy throughout the state. 

Over the past several years, my own experiences with grief, loss, and caregiving have changed how I show up in this work. I am becoming less focused on fixing and more focused on helping people stay with their experience long enough for something real to emerge.
